Changing Perspectives: Contemporary Landscapes
Term 1 - Term 4
Changing Perspectives: Contemporary Landscapes
Join us for a painting workshop exploring the power of perspective, symbolism, composition, and colour to capture dynamic landscapes. Inspired by William Robinson’s perspective-defying rainforest paintings, and abstract works featured in Beneath the Surface as well as works from the NGA exhibition: A Bigger View and HOTA Collects: Beneath the Surface. This workshop uncovers techniques to create evocative reflections of the world around us.
In this immersive workshop, students will create a series of observational drawings and a bold, expressive painting inspired by a unique perspective. As they explore composition, colour, pattern, and spatial relationships, students will be encouraged to manipulate visual elements and build skills in creative decision-making to deepen their understanding of how artistic choices convey meaning—skills they can carry into future artistic endeavours.
Please Note: This workshop will be open for bookings from the 18 of March 2026.
