Songcraft Studio: Writing & Recording with HaydenGoSeek
Following the success of our 2025 program, Songcraft Studio returns with a fresh focus on songwriting and accessible recording techniques for secondary students.
Led by HaydenGoSeek (aka Hayden Andrews of Cheap Fakes), this workshop invites young creatives to explore the full arc of song creation, from idea to demo. With an emphasis on creativity over perfection, students will gain hands-on experience writing lyrics, crafting melodies, and using easy-to-access recording tools to capture their work.
Hayden brings years of professional experience as a performer, producer, and mentor. Years 7–10 | Australian Curriculum (ACARA v9.0) This workshop supports learning across the key strands of the curriculum. Students explore how composers and performers use musical elements, techniques, and devices across cultures and contexts, considering how these shape structure, expression, and meaning. They reflect on their own and others’ music to inform creative choices, developing skills to shape the emotional and structural impact of their work. Through composing and interpreting music in a range of styles, students apply techniques and devices to communicate ideas, with outcomes that may include notation, documentation, or recordings.
