Behind the Scenes | Curating an Exhibition

Behind the Scenes | Curating an Exhibition

This workshop offers students a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a professional curator, designing and planning their own exhibition using works from the HOTA Collection.

Students will discover the ways that framing, context and delivery impact the meaning of individual works of art as they are invited to think creatively and outside-the-box to plan their own themed exhibition. From considering the logistics of location and installation, to crafting a compelling exhibition blurb and title, students will gain invaluable insight into the behind-the-scenes processes involved in putting together an exhibition.

Discover the diverse roles of curators, designers and technicians who bring captivating exhibitions to life and learn about the different pathways for a career within the arts.
