Alex Adsett

Alex Adsett is a literary agent and publishing consultant with almost 30 years’ experience working in the publishing and bookselling industry, including at S&S UK, Penguin Aus and Wiley.

Alex has managed Alex Adsett Literary since 2008, which has recently expanded to three agents, rights manager and office manager. As a consultant, Alex has helped thousands of authors review and negotiate their publishing deals. As a literary agent, she is focused on finding exceptional fiction and non-fiction manuscripts for adults, young adults and children. She represents over 40 authors and illustrators, including Melissa Lucashenko, Peter Greste, Dinuka McKenzie, Petronella McGovern, Jodi McAlister, Isobelle Carmody, and many more. In 2022 AAL acquired the distinguished children’s agency The Authors’ Agent, and their list of ten award winning authors and illustrators.

Alex regularly speaks on copyright and contracts around Australia, and is an alumni of the Australia Council Arts Leaders Program 2019.

Alison Kubler

Alison Kubler has a double major in Art History from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a Masters in Post-war and Contemporary Art History from Manchester University, England.

She has over 25 years’ experience as a curator in museums and galleries in Australia, and on major public art commissions.

She worked as Arts Adviser to the Federal Minister for the Arts and Sport, held full-time curatorial positions at QUT Art Museum and Gold Coast City Art Gallery, and worked as Associate Curator, at the University of Queensland Art Museum.

Alison is Editor in Chief of VAULT (vaultmagazine.com), a journal of art and culture and a regular contributor to art magazines and journals. She was a Member of the Council of the National Gallery, from 2018 to 2024 and Chair of the Collections Committee of the National Gallery and Committee Member of Know My Name. From 2012 to 2018 she was a Board Member of the Museum of Brisbane.

Together with Danielle Renshaw she is a Principal of Renshaw & Kubler Art Consultants.

She is a standing member of the Second Chance Programme, a volunteer run charitable organisation founded in 2001 to support homeless and at-risk women and children in crisis care, long-term accommodation & domestic violence shelters all over Queensland.

Alison is also co-author of Art and Fashion in the Twentieth Century published by Thames and Hudson UK (2013), subsequently translated into German and Japanese.
