A Mormon’s family journey to build a new church outpost in 1869 turns into a fight for survival when they are attacked by outlaws.

In 1869, a hired guide leads a Mormon family from Salt Lake City on an arduous journey to establish a new church outpost. After a violent encounter, the guide and family patriarch must work out how a party of mostly women and children can defend themselves against the next attack. Along the way, the guide and one of the wives develop a powerful connection.
