Colour and Pattern Play Workshop

Hands-on creativity with global design sensation, Morag Myerscough (UK).

Fun and playful free creative workshops exploring Morag’s iconic patterns, shapes and colours.

These workshops invite you to dive into ideas of home and belonging, through bold design, storytelling, drawing, and lots of colour.

Your creations will contribute to the collective design of a large-scale arts installation produced by local award-winning arts organisation Everybody NOW! to be revealed in 2026.

Come as a family, with friends or fly solo to join the creative explosion! Our friendly artist facilitators, Michelle Le Plastrier and Artwork Agency, along with Morag herself, will be there to guide you.

Open to all ages and abilities. No arts experience needed.

Morag Myerscough, Lead Designer

Morag Myerscough, Lead Designer

Morag Myerscough is an acclaimed British artist and designer, renowned for her vibrant and immersive public art installations that transform urban environments. She is best known for her use of bold colours, patterns, and words to create spaces that foster a sense of community, belonging, and joy.

Myerscough’s work spans a wide range of projects, from schools and hospitals to cultural hubs and town centres, often involving local communities in the design process to reflect their cultural identity and shared history.

Myerscough’s work is instantly recognizable for its energy and ability to resonate with diverse audiences worldwide, having been featured in cities across the globe, including London, Melbourne, Hong Kong, and Mexico City.

In addition to her design work, Myerscough is a passionate advocate for belonging, often speaking about the importance of creating spaces that promote inclusivity.

Michelle Le Plastrier, Local Artist

Michelle Le Plastrier, Local Artist

Michelle Le Plastrier is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on hand-built ceramics exploring identity, socio-political and environmental issues all in her signature candy coloured style.

Michelle teaches introductory ceramics across South-East Queensland and has exhibited and produced workshops for galleries, councils and businesses across Australia.

Michelle was an artist-in-residence through HOTA’s inaugural ArtKeeper program in 2021-22 and exhibited her body of work Dopamine Days at HOTA 2023-24. She won the Environmental Art Award at the 2023 Queensland Regional Art Awards and was a finalist in the 2024 North QLD Ceramic Awards at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery.

Everybody NOW! creates participatory arts projects that generate joy. Proudly based on the Gold Coast, as a HOTA Home Company, Everybody NOW! is an award-winning organisation dedicated to the creation of high-quality, community-engaged arts projects, that are made with and for community, alongside outstanding professional artists.

Since 2015 we've reached over 78,000 people, aged between 3 and 100 years young in 250+ communities across Australia, creating a range of innovative arts projects from slam poetry for seniors, intergenerational radio stations, roller skating rock shows, artists-in-residencies, digital programs, large-scale social dance works, to industry and community workshops and talks.
