A Matisse-Inspired Workshop for Kids - Wed 24 Sept, 10am & 11.15am

Step into the bold, brilliant world of Henri Matisse, the master of colour, shape, and cut-outs! In this hands-on workshop, kids will explore Matisse’s iconic “drawing with scissors” technique to create their own vibrant paper artworks.

Guided by local artist Amanda Gorman, participants will design a colourful cup, bowl, and plate set using painted paper, scissors, glue, and their imagination.

Inspired by Matisse’s joyful approach to art—this is all about creativity, colour, and playful expression!

Kids will draw their chosen symbols using a special pen, and then an adult will use a heat tool to transform the ink into a magical, burnt-wood effect. Discover what your runes reveal about the past, present, and future in this cosmic storytelling activity.

Dot-tastic Worlds – Inspired by Yayoi Kusama - Thu 2 Oct, 10am & 11.15am

Step into a world of infinite dots! In this playful workshop, kids will sculpt a colourful clay pumpkin and house it in a mirrored mini-room covered in vibrant dot patterns—just like Yayoi Kusama’s iconic installations.

Plus, help us grow a communal dot-covered art wall!
