Silk Road Project: NOMAD

Silk Road Project: NOMAD

A live musical journey from India and Central Asia through the Middle East to Turkey, blending Atman’s new electronic album NOMAD with the acoustic textures of Silk Road Project. Featuring didgeridoo, percussion, live musicians, belly dance, and immersive soundscapes, the performance evolves from meditative atmospheres into uplifting global rhythms.

Silk Road Project: NOMAD is an immersive live performance blending electronic music, acoustic world instrumentation, dance, and cinematic soundscapes into one evolving musical journey.

Beginning with the deep resonance of didgeridoo and atmospheric sound design, the performance travels through India, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Turkey, weaving together ancient textures with modern electronic production. The show features music from Atman’s newly released album NOMAD alongside original Silk Road Project compositions performed live by a quartet of musicians and accompanied by a belly dancer.

From soulful and meditative moments to uplifting rhythms and powerful melodic peaks, the performance gradually builds in energy and emotion. Electronic beats merge with percussion, acoustic instruments, and live improvisation, creating a unique cross-cultural experience that bridges traditional and contemporary worlds.

Silk Road Project: NOMAD is both a concert and a sonic journey - an exploration of movement, culture, rhythm, and connection across borders.

Daniel Philippe - Musician

Daniel Philippe's musical journey began at eight years old, when his parents recognised his talent for piano and enrolled him in lessons. His interest was immediately piqued and has never waned to this day. Daniel’s early interest in music has evolved into over thirty years of performing and teaching music. He has played in many bands and ensembles, ranging in style from jazz to classical to rock, including regular performances with the Ipswich City Orchestra, as Music Director for the Icon New Year’s Eve concerts at Robelle Domain, Ipswich City Big Band, local bands, and church services. In the latter part of the 1990s, he toured interstate with alternative rock band Tonjip, who also had airplay on Triple J. He has played on many recordings in different styles, including releasing his own ambient spiritual albums under the name Reflectiv. His latest album, Light Of Lights, is due for release on 1 July. More recently, Daniel has branched out into solo piano recitals. Stylistically, these performances range from Reflectiv-styled ambient music through to more jazzier and funkier pieces, featuring improvisation. Whatever style the music comes out as, Daniel’s goal is that it comes from, and is for, the very moment of its performance - music that feeds the spirit and the soul, creating a transcendent world - a quiet place, a place for listening, understanding and healing.
