Live, Loud and Proudly Outdoors

Share

The award winning, architecturally significant Outdoor Stage has a living green roof, an aircraft hangar door that collapses to create a 'black box' theatre, an amphitheater with seating and lawn space for 5,000 people, an incomparable view of the Surfers Paradise skyline and really... It just shows off everything we love about the Gold Coast – tropical surrounds, blue skies and great views.

There is (literally) no other venue, anywhere in the world, like the HOTA’s incredible Outdoor Stage.

#Changing the cultural fabric of the Gold Coast

Kickstarting a new era of arts, entertainment and culture on the Gold Coast, its residents and millions of visitors, the Outdoor Stage put Australia's sixth largest city on the map of must-play venues. A brilliant state-of-the art platform, it's already attracted its share of big names, local legends and international superstars.

Musicians like Tim Minchin, Neil Finn, Six60 and Ministry of Sound have performed on the stage, with Gold Coasters attending sellout show after sellout show.

Loud sounds and high energy gigs aren't the only thing electrifying the stage. Versatile and transformative, the Outdoor Stage can be the epitome of elegance, grace and poise.

Queensland Ballet brought Giselle to stunned crowds. Experiencing ballet under the stars is becoming an extraordinary routine occurance, as Queensland Ballet return to end the year with Moonlight Ballet. An explosion of music, colour and rock’n’roll swagger under the stars, inspired by the swinging 60s. This Gold Coast exclusive is set to be a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar

#Beyond the sounds

From Roller Rinks, Yoga, Christmas Markets and world-first exhibitions of artworks, the Outdoor Stage has seen it all

GAIA brought the earth down to the Gold Coast. Lost Dogs Disco called patrons to a party on the lawn.

A floating globe enchanting audiences was the first artwork to live on the Outdoor Stage. Create by artist Luke Jerram, hundreds of visitors flocked to the stage daily to take it in.

Lost Dogs Disco landed in late 2021 with 16 towering inflatable and interactive canines that invited lost souls to party away with the Outdoor Stage as their backdrop.

A continuation of our belief that art isn't confined to four walls, this is just the beginning of art taking centerstage and spectacular experiences.

#The Stage Is Set

From festivals, community events, concerts and events – 2022 certainly favours the versatility of our beloved Outdoor Stage.

Big names still to come (keep an eye out for announcements), more ballet under the stars and, as always, lots of live, loud and outdoors experiences are on the way.

There's no stage like it. It's time you visited the Outdoor Stage.
